The average America’s Mattress location is approximately 3,500 sq.ft.. When choosing a site, location attributes such as visibility, access, and traffic, are more important than size. In some cases, this may mean the perfect location is as small as 2,000 sq.ft. and as large as 5,000 sq.ft.

For freestanding America’s Mattress stores, a minimum net worth of $150,000 including adequate working capital of $75,000 per store included in the market development plan is normally required, although these amounts may vary by market. We will also run a credit check, expecting a minimum score of 700+ before moving forward with agreements.

Yes – we offer both training and documentation in varying levels for all pertinent areas of the business. You will work with a team of experts who are there to answer any questions you have about your operation alongside occasional in-person sessions depending on business model and location. In addition, you will have a local Serta-Simmons sales rep working with you and your staff to address all local product and training needs on a regular basis.

We work with a preferred real estate company that understands the specific aspects needed for our locations. We also work with you and the real estate company directly to evaluate basic demographics, competition, visibility, etc. to help determine which sites best fit our program.

Yes, our licensed retail operation requires a minimum standard of appearance. In other words, we will provide a branded look, along with all instructions and details to ensure your store meets these standards.

The amount of money individual locations can expect to make will vary depending on many factors, including the location and demographics, operating costs, sales, and the overall ability of the individual dealer to operate and manage the business. One of the initial steps in the process will be to create a business plan so you can see how all of these factors will affect your bottom line.

Serta owns the “America’s Mattress” trademark which we license to our partners so they can operate under our national brand. In exchange for using our name (and all of the other assistance and benefits we provide), our partners commit to only purchasing and selling mattresses, foundations, and adjustable bases from Serta Simmons Bedding Company. The team that supports the America’s Mattress network are all employees of Serta Simmons Bedding whose primary responsibility is to help the network thrive and grow.
